Easter Weekend / Lake Tahoe
We are here in sunny (well, mostly cloudy) California! Natalie and I arrived into Oakland on Good Friday where Henry met us and we all drove the rest of the way to Lincoln to visit with the Hogan family for the weekend. It was great to see good friends again and spend time catching up.
Saturday morning, Ava and Natalie participated in a local Easter Egg Hunt - it's great when the kids are still more interested in the plastic eggs than the candy inside! That afternoon, we drove up to Lake Tahoe to see the sites. It is amazingly beautiful and we were glad to get a tour from the "locals." We also walked around the quaint town of Truckee, which reminded me much of Harper's Ferry, but flat. After a delicious Mexican meal in Truckee, we made the journey home and capped off the evening with a piece of famous Todd Hogan cake. It was mighty fine. ;)
Easter morning dawned, rainy and dreary, but we donned our Easter best and headed to church. Natalie, the ever Miss Independent, couldn't wait to get in the nursery. She stood, tugging at the door knob, while I tried to quickly put name tags on all her things. We spent the afternoon relaxing back at the Hogans's and after a fabulous (I''m not exaggerating) dinner, we headed back to Santa Clara.
