February 2006

St. Augustine, FL

In February, we went to visit Dean, Amy, and Adyn in sunny St. Augustine. We had a wonderful time touring the oldest city in America and going to the local spots. After a morning of us girls advising the boys to visit the Fountain of Youth, they finally gave in and gave it a whirl. They were supposed to take a quick tour - making sure to hit the planetarium. Two hours and a pretzel and bottle of water later, Amy went in to make sure they hadn't fallen into the ocean. She found them strolling along enjoying exhibits. They even made her take pictures of the two of them acting out the Ponce de Leon landing. For a couple guys who drug their feet so much to go in, they sure did make the most of it. They told us later the tour guide used them to represent Ponce de Leon and the natives in her explanation of the height difference Mr. de Leon encountered. They were so thrilled with themselves. We visited many of the historic sites and ate at several great restaurants. The Flagler College tour was well worth the money and I was glad we saw the legacy the oil magnate left in St. Augustine.

We were also able to spend Sunday afternoon with Tiffany since she is studying about an hour and a half away near Melbourne. We met her in Daytona Beach and had a great time catching up and taking a look at the ocean. We drove back via the coastline and it was absolutely beautiful, especically as the moon came up over the water.

Edy has been relegated to the back yard, but Natalie replaced her with Adyn - now able to sit up and play. She was infactuated with the baby and was happy to help him get toys or take them away from him. I can't believe how big he is getting - and so cute too. Check out the photo gallery to see pictures of our trip. They are well worth the peek.
